Build strength, trust, and technique to stand up and drop back with clarity and confidence.

Drop backs can feel like magic — or like falling into the unknown. This course is here to demystify the process and support you in exploring one of yoga’s most exhilarating transitions: standing into full wheel, and returning with control.

A focused course in back-bending with Martyna Febre.

what will we do?

Through short, focused video lessons, you’ll work progressively: building a deeper understanding of your full wheel shape, preparing your body with targeted drills, and exploring accessible steps toward standing up and dropping back. Whether you’re brand new to the movement or refining an existing practice, the course offers real-world pathways and options for every body.

Course Lessons

01. WELCOME

In this first section, you'll find a warm welcome from Martyna, an overview of the props that can support your practice, and a few important notes about safety and responsibility. This will help you move through the course with confidence, clarity, and care.

02. Preparation

In this section, we’ll lay the groundwork for your drop back journey. You’ll learn how to assess your full wheel pose, explore what a “ready” backbend looks like, and begin preparing key areas of the body—shoulders, hip flexors, legs, and glutes. These foundational practices are essential whether you’re working toward your first drop back or refining the movement with more ease and control.

03. Coming to stand

We now begin the upward journey—learning how to stand up from full wheel. Through progressive drills, simple cues, and creative use of props, you'll build the strength, coordination, and confidence needed to rise with control. Whether you're just starting to experiment or already close to standing, these practices will help you refine your technique and feel more grounded in the process.

04. Dropping back

Now we explore the descent—learning how to drop back into full wheel with steadiness and courage. This section guides you through a series of controlled movements, using swaying drills, hand placements, and prop variations to build familiarity and trust. You’ll learn how to approach the drop back gradually, honoring your own pace while developing the mobility and mindset to move backward with confidence.

05. Putting it together

Finally, we bring all the elements together into a cohesive experience. You’ll have the chance to try a full sequence of standing up and dropping back, using everything you've practiced so far. Whether you complete the full movement or continue refining each part, this is your space to integrate, reflect, and celebrate your progress. The course closes with a goodbye video from Martyna and an invitation to keep exploring with curiosity and care.
